Michael “Mickey” Maffei works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. He supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD-related challenges, trauma, grief, self-esteem concerns, and changes in relationships or daily life. His collaborative, person-centered approach incorporates creativity, humor, and clients’ interests alongside practical coping skills. Mickey draws on CBT, DBT-informed skills, ACT-informed strategies, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches, with play-based work when developmentally appropriate. He welcomes LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients. He earned his Master of Social Work from Rutgers University and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kean University.
